Paty is working in Todos Santos, Pescadero

and Elias Calles, using an interdisciplinary

approach to teaching. She employs field

service learning and the use of media

to get young people excited about

the environment.

of marine biology, conservation ecology
and eco-tourism.

Young people learn about regional
eco-systems by producing media
(video, photography and art) with a focus
on the Sierra de la Laguna watershed
and the Pacific ocean. We achieve local
conservation objectives through increased
commmunity participation.

Youth in Video
Young people master video techniques, build
leadership skills and produce professional videos.
The program fosters visual awareness & media literacy.
Plus it provides the participants an introduction to
the various aspects of filmmaking, from the basics
of screen writing and directing
to advanced cinematography.
